Hello! I remember reading Gone With the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell, at thirteen years old and thinking… I could write that. A few decades later, I create my own stories about drama in the family in the modern world–because no one has enough of their own, right?
I write under two names:
CRYSTAL COLE is my pen name for my upmarket women’s fiction novels: my current novels are under the Kate Fox Series, Falling Through Trees and This Side of Perfect.
Crystal Klimavicz, my given name, is for my historical memoir and ghostwriting work.
If you’ve read one of my books and enjoyed it, please write a review online at Amazon or Good Reads. Reviews for authors are like GOLD and every honest, helpful review makes a difference.
My writing career has taken me into more writing ventures, including ghostwriting for clients, editing full and partial manuscripts, and kid's creative writing for middle schoolers. I love to write my own stories and help others with their stories, just as dearly.
I also believe strongly in giving back to the community and volunteer regularly through Junior Achievement and other worthy organizations.
Write, live, love.
Falling Through Trees tells a story about family, life, and love. Kate Fox moved away from her childhood home years ago, hoping to leave troubling memories behind. Determined and driven, she created a life rich in things and a thriving career that has defined her.
Molly, her younger sister and a mother of two, stayed near their small hometown in Maine, and has born the burden of taking care of the mother they share—a mother who has a past and troubles of her own. When tragedy strikes, the two sisters are forced to face each other and the secrets of their past. Together, they discover a simple truth, that sometimes it takes living through sadness to find what really matters and become the person you were meant to be.
“Crystal has created a poignant story about a self-made woman who is forced to return to a difficult past that she left long ago, while struggling to reconnect with the sister she left behind. Falling Through Trees is a powerful and riveting story that book clubs will be sure to embrace!”
- JEFFREY STEPAKOFF, award-winning author of Fireworks Over Toccoa
“As a heart-rending story involving sisters and family, Falling Through Trees reminds us about the need for resilience and compassion in our lives. Anyone who has lost a loved one will be moved by the story, as the triumph of the human spirit and love prevail.”
- BARBARA HELEN BARTOCCI, author of Nobody’s Child Anymore
“Crystal has crafted a compelling story of healing and redemption as told through the eyes of three women—a mother and her two daughters. I will most certainly recommend this book to any of my clients who are on the journey of restoration and self-discovery after suffering the loss of someone in the family. Moving and triumphant, at its best!”
- GARY W. DELAPLANE, owner of Mourning Dove Counseling
“Falling Through Trees takes us deep into the hearts and minds of two sisters who face tragedy, and carries us through their difficult and devastating situation. In the end, it is courage, vulnerability, and love of family that help them deal with the lingering torments of their past and the acute pain of the present, to find the inner strength to reclaim their lives.”
